The floor
Work orders land in a department's pool. A machinist claims one, starts it, and records the hours, material and tools he actually used — nothing dictated by the estimate. Finished work rolls into the job report.
Scheduling
Real dates from the real queue. Supervisors reorder with a tap. Rush job? Run it around the clock.
Inventory
Tools named the way the box reads, with on-hand counts, printed drawer labels and the last price paid. A material catalog too. Both feed the estimate.
Purchasing
Carts become purchase orders, one per vendor. Receiving updates stock and frees the work that was waiting on it.
